Forge DVs have a lifetime guarantee, give them a call if you suspect its faulty, their customer service is legendary. They will probably send you a service kit which pretty much replaces everything anyway.

The service kit contains a new piston, special greese and 2 rubber seals. Forge have always been kind enough to send them free of charge as far as I know (even covering the postage!). I don't like to take the P so I tend to only ask once in every 3 times and use the remaining greese in between as I don't think you need to replace it all every time, just regreese.
