Revised FR steering wheel

Okay this may seem an odd question, but can someone with a revised FR (post April 06 big bumper model) measure the diameter of the steering wheel from the outside of the rim.
Mate has an earlier mk4 Sport and possibly wants to retro-fit one.

Is it the 1 with buttons on it that control the cd player

Airbag will will be the main problem, as otherwise would need a different airbag and possibly ECU altering?

The new FR wheel Adam has FR at the bottom of it surrounded by silver

cool to be of help thoug to be honest apart from the silver fr bit it does feel the same as my old sport one that had steering wheel controls for the stereo

I think he thought he could justify the cost to change over if it is smaller and chunkier than the original grey/black item he has (which has no steering wheel controls either). I suppose it's a tactile thing, just ask an LCR 225 owner or an R32 owner but personally I don't think it's a goer. As said above, it's going to be a)expensive and b)problematic at best!

Just check part numbers of the airbags, as they may be different

the fr one or the one that was an option extra with mp 3 player is much nicer than the standard one should be able to pick one up second hand i would of thought

There is someone selling a few FR parts on e-bay from a write off just search "Ibiza FR" and you'll find them, e-mail him and he might be able to sort you out a price.
