Hi Chaps,

I did a search and didn't find much, I have a question regarding the power of my LCR.
When I bought it a couple months ago, and whilst driving it home for the first time the power was awesome and sometimes scary. Since owning the car it has been booked in for a couple of minor warranty jobs aty the local dealer's.

Recently though, when I put my foot down it feels a little like its not performing the way it used to, like its holding back a bit? Is it me?, have I just got used to the power and not find it as exciting anymore or could the dealer have done something?

Can anyone relate to what I'm experiencing?

Thanks
Jay

possible MAF problem by the sound of it. i had something similar happen to mine a while back. saying that though the other day i got da boooost in a big way when i wasn't expecting it and it was certainly an eye opener!

It could be that you are getting used to it, however it could be that you have something like a MAF on its way out or maybe a boost leak. There are a few different things it could be.

thanks I have got the car booked in for another small warranty job next week, will mention the MAF then. Thanks again KarlosR

Another thing to get them to check, which is a bit of a common place for a boost leak, is the small "E" shaped hose rubber on the side of the inlet manifold, this can tear on the inner sides of it, cant see it till you take it off, or preasurise the system. Just something else to look for.

My personal fav for testing the MAF is to get into 3rd gear, drop down to 1500rpm and then put your foot down. If power comes up quick then MAF is fine. Don't do this all the time though as it will break it!

It happens to me all the time. I get used to the power.
All it takes is a run around in the Wife's 1.1i saxo and then getting back into the LCR puts a smile on my face:D
