IIRC when the 2.0 140pd came out, superchips got to 210 with just an exhaust system and a remap,,, I would have expected a bit more from those piezo injectors,,,

didnt they also get flames outta the bonnet tho???

PS. carlo , you dont want that;)

Hey stoney!! long time no talk!

Well actually 70hp with a remap and few bits more isn't that extreme these days with these engines,,, if you think some 130's have been mapped to 190 with just a few additions then it's not that strange,,,

Ben's graph confirms this,,,

some dealerships are still having problems with the EGR & having software upgrades. This needs to be addressed then its a go'r

true carlo , that wasnt my point , i heard superchips car went up in smoke during testing

rumour i must stipulate ( ps do not prosecute me mr S. Chips)

so if the 170 is designed to gather soot , run lean and raise EGTs to burn it off , and you remove the filter ,

1 where does the soot go

2 what happens when the egts go up but nothing is burned ( no energy is transferred)

the dpf collects all the crap thats bad for the engine, so surely removing it will be detremental to the engine, problems occur as if the car is 200+ the filter cant clean and blocks to fast hence catches fire like the s/chips car alledgedly, see also the post from someone in greece who had to have his egr unit replaced as the new map fecked it. so we need a dpf with better cells & uprated egr IMO.

The DPF is in the exhaust and is there to burn of soot and lower emissions so removing it will not harm the engine in any way it is just the slight problem that it is wired into the ECU and will cause the car ti go into limp mode if the wire is cut or the DPF is not working. I don`t see why somebody cannot come up with some way to remove the DPF and keep the engine working it just comes down to having the expertise and how much time and money you want to throw at the problem. If somebody has done it then fair play to them.

Wouldn't have thought it rocket science to fool the ECU into thinking the DPF was still there...?
