Up to you. I always used Castrol Magnatec on the R. Oil changed after the first 5000 miles. I'd let the engine have a reasonable chance to bed in. I'm no expert in these areas mind you.

Nope, but when I have a spare lunchtime I'll be heading to the VW dealer across the road from work.

I'm sure my old SEAT dealer will be intouch to try and get me back to the marque by offering a test drive when the demo arrives.

But I have to say I think the Mk5 GTI is brilliant and I still don't quite like the shape of the Mk2 Leon. It's a bit like marmite in my view. :)

very true.

I drove a GT, not a GTi, but i wasn't as comfortable with the seating position, but we have an local VW dealer so might pop along for a go in one, but im not so keen on the looks of the Golf if im honest. marmite :)

The GT is nothing compared to the GTI! :)

I didn't like the shape of the Mk5 Golf either at the beginning but it grew on me over time.

Maybe the Leon will grow on me too but time will tell.

At the moment I am very happy to have a GTI sitting outside the house.

Seating positions i fear will be fairly similar though. But the Golf really doesn't appeal to me, if it wasn't a SEAT then i'd probably be looking at an A4 in the VAG camp. Or looking somewhere outside the group.

free food was nice :)

I can't comment on the S3 though, as I've not driven one

If we can meet up after Thursday we can put that right Mark, and dispell the Autocar myth that the Leon is a blunt tool - they talk some $h1t (see this weeks 14 car hot hatch test in autocar). The Leon should be better - lighter, 2wd.

Have to do it b4 mid month as its going for map @ MTM.
