pd power outputs

hi i no this isnt a vw site but im hoping the engine types will b the same. im looking in to buying a vw golf with a 90 bhp tdi engine. could you tell me if this is likely to be a PD?

I agree - These are the AHU / ALH engines which use a different form of injection. Still decent enough engines.

Golf V tdi90 is a PD engine...it's the same as a PD105.

The 90 bhp Golf is not a Pumpe Düse engine, it has a different kind of diesel injection pump...distributor style I think.

If the car being referred to is 5 or 6 (or more) years old, then it will not be a PD for sure.

I agree - There was no 1.9PD below 100BHP. It would be a standard TDi engine.

If I remember right, the PD engines can produce 30% more power than a same sized non-PD engine due to the high pressure fuel delivery.

There is a PD90 engine. it does come in the Golf v, Sharan and a caddy. engine code is ANU

Just checked VW and neither the Golf V or Sharan have a 90BHP engine. Smalles they do is the 105BHP or 75BHP SDI

Maybe it is not sold in the UK but it definately is sold here. The golf van comes in a PD90 (ANU) here. Also my mate has a 2004 ford galaxy( same car as sharan) and its a PD90. Do a google search and you will see.

The seat alhambra came in a PD90 also.

Over here the smallest output on the Bammer is 115 as well.

Just check seat.ie and again the smallest is 115BHP.

From memory there are a few PD engines. 90, 105, 115, 130, 150 and 160 bhp models were all produced. There were also 90 and 110 bhp non-PDs.

We still don't know whether the one you're looking at is PD or not...

What year is the car?

If you're not fussed about performance the VE engine is still a good TDI. If you want some tuning potential, go PD.

non PD will be fine, and as its a Y Reg Golf it will be a non PD lump. which will do you perfectly, be nice and reliable and consistantly get 50+mpg.
