Airbag warning light reset?

Started the car without the airbag attached. Now it's reconnected, the light remains on. I assume it requires a reset, would disconnecting the battery for 20mins do the trick or is this a VAG-COM matter?

Found this earlier post
"could be many things could be that the airbag itself is disconected or there is a brake in the wire.
or the airbag was off with the igntion on."



This also mentions the airbag off, ignition on, but no cure.

Yeah, basically when you turn the key, the ECU checks the airbag - be it, missing, faulty, etc etc if it doesn't get the restistance down the right wire it throws up a fault light.


Once triggered (light on) it just needs resetting with the basic 'clear fault codes' button in VagCom

Well, that saves me trying the battery disconnect and losing all my radio station :D
