Thanks for the prompt response.
Just that I had heard through the grapevine that fitting them bowed the roof. Daresay too much luggage was put in the top box if it managed to do that. Guess it was an old wives tale. Not surprised that the mpg dropped. Beggars can't be choosers. Can they?
Decided to think of getting a top box having done 15 days touring Europe with a load of camping gear in the back. The purchase of a larger tent, following orders from she who must be obeyed, has influenced me somewhat.

Hi carnec2002,

Just thinking of fitting a roof box to my FR for a pending trip to the coast. Hubby already has Bars and box for his X5 which we purchased last year for a trip to Disneyland Paris, but he wants to take the FR down to the coast to see how it performs:rolleyes: .

Anyhow back to the roofbars, try this company in the Lake district www.roofbox.co.uk. They have a very, very good choice, service and an added bonus of excellent prices. My hubby already has the Atera roofbars and roofbox for his X5 which he is very pleased with. So Atera roofbars for my FR will be our highly recommended choice.
