Another "feature" that wasn't thought thoroughly and reason to stay away from current crop of cars, for me at least.

They're not your settings anymore...

Yes. But surely it's not beyond the wit of their Techy Boffins (correct technical term) to create a system where my settings are both uploaded to them, for whatever nefarious purposes they may have, AND stored locally on my car, to avoid the owner (me) having to rely on their bl**oody satellite or server not crashing?

...or are their intentions even more nefarious than just standard nefarious?

They're either naughty or incompetent.
