Ok so this is a silly question. if you have climate control and are changing the coolant do you.

- Turn the Auto climate off, and manually set to hottest temeprature then change the coolant.

Reason i ask is when you used to change the coolant on an older car pre climate days you would alway knock the temp to hot so that their were no blockages. casting my mind back i think this was advice from the haynes manual and my go back to very old cars. But does the same principle apply when changing the coolant on a climate fitted car etc. do people know what i mean in the above garble.

Why are you changing the coolant - thought the pink VAG stuff had lifetime on it

you are joking i assume:lol:

Nope not mine, a mates changind his in a mk4 sport. i also have to change mine in the mini next week and that has climate too. So was checking the principles around it.

the pink coolant is called G12 and is the only coolant you should use! and by turn the heaters on hot on full blast you assure that there is no blockages of air in the heater matrix behind the dash board
