right i seem to remember that they were brembos ? is the new cupra r out yet? if so does anyone know the price of these brakes as im needing some for my golf , cheers

The New 'Cupra' (The 'R' has been dropped) does not have brembo's, but has the same brakes as the R32 and new S3. These are single pot 345mm brakes which are very capable.

AP racing make a setup for the MkV Golf GTi 4 or 6 piston 330mm, which i have the 6 piston type. These are very good, but obviously pricey if bought new.

what price approx mr. dan??? i am looking for a big brake kit for my cupra but dont know the prices

Drove a Altra before having the Leon. The Altra FR had very aggesive brakes. The new Leon with over 1K mile is, well , not that good.
It has had a fair bit of usage so a little disapointed.

Is it the same brakediscs and calipers for Golf V, Audi A3 Mk2 and Leon 1P?

I have to say that the brakes were the only question mark when I bought my Cupra, originally the factory were going to fit brembo's but (IHMO) were told by the beancounters to fit R32/S3 brakes for cost and supply reasons, and these do work very, very well... (several close calls on M1 with blind drivers/students)... If I were in the market for a replacement set, I'd probably go for the AP set, closely followed by Awesomes Porsche set....

For the AP racing 330mm kit for the MkV GTi, About £1900 for 6 pot, and £1600 for 4 pot. Plus fitting of course..

I wonder if the Cupra discs and calipers are a straight bolt on?

Fish

I test drove the FR TDI a few weeks ago and was impressed how good the brakes were.; so much so that I think the sales rep was getting car sick! Although to be fair I did come straight out of a Rover 214 [B)]

With a new car should the brakes be 100% straight from delivery or will it take a while for them to bed in properly? The car Leon I drove had 6k on the clock.

They should be performing well then. dont really think it would take more then a few miles to bed in.
