This is the optimum RPM when trying to achieve maximum acceleration.

If you look here at the graphs for the LCR Revo

You will see Optimum BHP and torque.

BHP 5500 RPM
Torque 4000 RPM

Optimum shift based on BHP would be 6500 RPM
Optimum shift based on torque would be 5000 RPM

Based on this information would you say the best RMP to shift in the LCR would be arround 6000 RPM?

Or have i got this all wrong?
 
its not very often i change gear past the 6k mark. at that point there seems to be boost as soon as the clutch pedal comes back up and the gas pedal goes down. my car hasn't been revo'd but has been remapped though.
 
Yeh i think as long as when you shift you come back in to boost your OK. We will see what other poeple say. Try and find someone with a revo!
 
On a remapped LCR you will experience more boost later in the rev range but to a point where the restrictions in the intake system become more evident and dependant on setup thats why I say do it by ear and feel. A good reference point (from my experience) is to change up around 5-5.5k and slightly more 6k ish on lower gears like 1st and 2nd.

Not sure I agree, but each to their own........:p
 
I'm not sure that changing gear at 5.5k on a remapped car is getting the best out of it to be honest. The car will still be making power at that point, so it's a bit of a waste really. 6-6.5k is the limit of where the usable power is, depending on the map and individual cars state of tine, of course.
 
I may have to clarify that apart from Revo i'm completely standard. I find that changing up at 6k 1st, 6k 2nd, 6k 3rd. 5.5k 4rd, 5th 5.5k and 6th till it can't go no more I imagine (hehe). I find that changing up earlier in later gears is using the full amount of torque available at that rev (with gearing) which is what accelerates the car better that redlining or bouncing off the limiter then changing up.
 
Redlining or bouncing off the limiter is never a clever idea, but you can still go higher than that to extract all the usable power from the car :)

I think this is abotu right. On revod cars it does lose torque later int he recv range. How much is a jabba remap and are they better then Rovo?
