Feeling the extra power

Hi All,

I've been doing a few searches and I was just wondering what boost people were running on average and max.

What's considered as "safe" for an LCR with standard internals and turbo?

Thanks

Mine holds at 22psi and peaks at 25psi.
25psi!!

Mine peaks at 22, drops to 20 and then 18 until 5000rpm ish. Not sure what the standard internals are good for boost wise but I've read anything over 300bhp is time to start thinking about uprated oily bits.

Nah your boost gauge is knackered.

K04 wont hold 22psi, not a chance.

18psi around 5000rpm
15 psi around 6500rpm

Should hold 20-21psi though upto around 4500rpm.

Maybe your thinking its 'holding' 21-22 psi because your monitoring it in 6th gear and only accelerating between say 2750-4500 range where it will 'hold' that. Gives you the impression that it is holding because of the time taken to accelerate in this gear.

Try a 4th gear run, and monitor your gauge. It starts dropping significantly when you pass around 4750rpm.

The answer to your original question, 21-22psi is the norm (may spike higher). Can take the power upto 350ish on the standard rods.

thats high for standard mate, mine spike bout 13 and holds 11 till bout 6k and falls to 10 after that. far as i was aware mine was bang on, think you've got a wee bit more, shh tho! keep it to yourself!

Yes but it will only hold 21-22psi or 1.5 bar boost upto around 4750rpm. Then drops quite sharply, due to small nature of turbo, punchy but weedy.

It does not hold 1.5 bar boost to the red line as your post suggests by saying ''hold''

I'm glad you guys are saying roughly what im seeing on mine!! holding 22psi for the majority of the rev range!!:D i was a bit worried about the internals being overstrained by these high boost figures:confused:. Im stage 2 Revo btw!!!

what kind of pressures are IHI's running at then??? I know its just down to boost but it plays a big part!!

thanks for your info

I've sene 1.8 bar IHIs. Mega boost. Takes an age to spool but when it does... surge!!! Saw an IHI Jetta that was around 400BHP on IHI. Niceness.
