Well of course this forum is about SEATs and isn't a classroom. But look at it this way, a serious person isn't going to reply to your post (or even try reading and understanding it), if the standard of language used is the same of a 14year old ****ing chav. I'm not saying this is some some superior forum, but you will get an exactly the same response on any other proper forum. By this I do not mean DurhamKruizeMassive.com and others alike. Only thing we're trying to do is prevent the standards of the forum sinking to the level of some dirty chavs that make my insurance premiums sky high

I'm not some sort of a keyboard warrior and I'm not trying to be a **** to you mate, I'm only trying to give you a hint as to how you might make your life easier for yourself by writing properly (others might not be so polite). Especially because you have got a phat 2.0 16v Ibiza in black which is definitely the way to go.

can we talk bout the cars now.... got the car got the exhaust got the air fiter got the leads and spark plus WHAT NEXT??? played with minis all my life so dont mind getting my hands dirty but what the next step ,gearbox ,port polish , head skim PLEASE HELP in layman terms not all of us are educated.

lovin the cars on show didnt think ther was that many around keep up the good work.

if you do a search then you should be able to find quite a few threads concerning tuning the 2.0 16v engine.

The bottom line is..............if you want big BHP mk2...........get a 1.8T conversion or get a second job to help pay for the mods

Basically it goes something like this usually:

Air filter
Cat-back exhaust
Cams
Port, polish, skim the head
Re-map the ECU
ITBs (throttle bodies)

The best thing to do with a mk2 is concentrate on the handling rather then power so you might want to consider these things:

Better tyres
Uprated discs/pads/fluid/ brake lines
Coilovers
ARBs
Strut braces
Rear spacers
Strip out the rear

i would have said instead of the rear braces then a full cage, bolted and welded in, if not a full one, a hlaf cage at least to stiffen up the rear

Im not the only mk2 owner but ive only saw another 2 that have been 'modded'. One was a red gti post-facelift and the other is a kiwi pre-facelift gti.

Most of the other ones are owned by older people.

It maybe hard to find parts for the mk2 ibiza but thats all part of the fun in the end isnt it.

i cant believe that there are seats more uncomfy than the half leathers i just put up with mine coz i cant find any i like just now and i hate the cobra sparco etc after market jobs. need to have a look in some scrappys i think maybe get me a bargain fancy the front seats from a skoda vrs.
with the sumpplug did you try and big fu** off brakers bar did the job 4 me dont crack your elbow off the road like i did it hurts!!!!

Well, the geometry setting was done yesterday!

Wicked...nope...they called and said yes its all done, however, your chasis is bent and could be a right off!

"excuse me, can I phone you back in two seconds"

after 10min of blowing my top, swearing and having a very sick feeling in my stomach I called back.

Anyway after a while I found a garage opposite who could get it on a Jig, they went over and had a look.

Two more hours later no reply. Called the second garage up and was told that he had looked and couldn't beleive they would not check something like this. 90% sure that it is not bent and is just a bent shocko, so they are doing a quote today.

I was fuming...not only had I aged 3 years in those hours, I had also come up with some plans to get the b$%^ard back for selling me a messed up car. Shocking...will see what happens today...

Let me get this straight (no pun intended), one garage thinks you have twisted chassis. And the other recons its just a bent suspension shock?? I love the way the damage changes between about £1000 and £50 between two garages. Makes you think twice about the honesty/abilities of garages these days

Exactly.

Well the original garage who advised I had a potential write off...has now checked and the cups which go into the suspension mounts were new but were not the right ones hence why it was going out of alignment. It also meant that if I had gone over a bridge too fast (has happened before) the suspension would bottom out and would pull the shocks out from the mounts...

Anyway, its getting sorted for under a ton a think and the parts are on order for next tuesday. So I should be a happy little bunny by then! Fingers crossed!

I bought a New Ibiza 2.0 GTI 16V In volcano red in december 1997 That had the recaro interior from Penmans Darlington at the time they were calling it a LTD edition. I had the choice of copper, white or red but they managed to get me the volcano red in the end as i think it looked fantastic in that colour and different to the norm for this car.
I never had a problem in 5 years of use of the car with the comfort of the seats i have a bad lower back and the recaros never caused me a problem, most other cars i have to crawl out of after about an hour 9nissans are the worst) the Ibiza i could travel in for hours and be fine when i got out.
A mate of mine had a 2.0 8V cupra and i found the seats lacking and uncomfortable compared to the recaros.
