My car hase gone in to limp mode due to a boost leak I think. It's back to the dealers ( SEAT ) tomorrow. It will be done under warranty but how long will they have the car. Is it a big job.

If it is a boost leak, it's most likely a pipe that's popped off somewhere, in which case it should be a quick job.

I only joined the forum yesterday and all I seem to read is about these cars going in to limp mode. Is it a common fault and is it likely to go in to limp mode again.

its not to common normally happens when you fiddle but as muddy said either a split boost pipe or more common boost pipe popped off hope it gets sorted soon matey

Well im confussed. Its been back to the dealers to day. The fault was linked to the turbo but everything has reset and the car is running normal. They said monitor the situtation. It went to IMG who might I say were fantastic and reading from other threads well trustworthy. I Will keep you informed.

Standard at the moment.
Had plans to upgrade the car but these problems have held me back

you say that, but thats only because the thousands of owners who have no problems don't post up to say " no problems to report on the car today" people on forums only tend to post when they have a problem to report.

Dont get me wrong I'm not complaining about the car. It's a cracking car. when you read through the forum 70% of the problems people report are that the car has gone in to limp mode for what ever reason. Lets hope Seat read the forum.

When a big problems occurs, limp mode is there to stop further damage.

Sometimes its just a case of popping a pipe back on and remove the fault code.

Running a turbo with anything other than perfect pipework (be it air, water, oil) does tend to be a bad thing, limp mode it to make sure it doesnt get any worse.
