Help please OEM 6 disk CD changer

First of all, this being my first post, I guess I should do a quick introduction.

I have just bought my first Seat Ibiza FR. It still has under 100 miles on it and trying to baby it as much as I can at the moment. I'm from the states so the power is nothing new to me, but it beats my Ford Focus 1.4L any day! I have lived all of my life a Ford man, owning no less than 3 Mustangs, 1 Probe, and a Curtis Kraft midget with a cosworth engine. The Seat is my 6th car and hopefully it will last longer than the others. I get bored of my cars pretty quickly when the novelty wears off.

I happen to buy this car beacause is was already at the port and as such it didn't have 100% of what I wanted on it. It has the heated side mirrors, anti-dazzle, and such package. What I want is the OEM cd changer that would have come with it. If possible I don't want to ask the dealer as they tend to charge a bit more for most things.

Anyone know where I can find it?

Also while I'm at it, here's another two for everyone.

I opened up the glove box for the first time and it didn't want to stay closed for me. Is this normal, or is there a trick to it?

Also where are all these get together's held at? I live in the North East. I would love to meet you all and try and suck all your juicy Seat knowledge from ya.

Thanks again guys! and gals! When I get some pics made I'll upload them. I've even got a few seatcupra.net stickers for the windows as well.

Hello and welcome to SCN.

Which CD changer do you want?

If it's the boot/glove box type mine is for sale!
Genuine Matsushita VAG part and I'll include the cable for the glove box fitting. :)
Let me know if you're interested.

Regards Guy.

Thank you for the help. I'm pretty anal about these sort of things so it would have to be original equipment with Seat branding if anything. Those prices from that link are way to spendy for a 6 disk changer. I guess I'll just stick to MP3's for now then. You get a lot of playback from them anyways. I can fit about 94 songs on a CD which is close to 6 disks I guess.

Also the glove box trick works, I just need to close it a bit harder for it to latch. I guess I'm using kids gloves at the moment.

I see there is a meet in Sheffield coming up, just too bad it's Wednesday or I would go. Just too far to go for me and still have time for work in the morning.

Maybe next time. :)

The VAG boot mount/glovebox mount ones aren't branded as such, so ones from MK4 Golfs and such will also fit, all you need is a cable with the blue square 8 pin connector.

I had one in my Cupra and sold it with the cable for £50, this is the going price these days.

I'm not sure if they are branded as Seat.
More likely to be VW like mine given that they are used across the whole VAG range.

This is a picture of the back of my changer.

Sorry it's not the best picture but you can just make out the VW sticker on the left.

You'll need an extra mini ISO connector (green) if you have head unit steering wheel controls.
You can see what I mean in this guide I posted (pics 5 & 6).

The single yellow cable needs to be moved from the existing connector to the new green block but it's not difficult. The yellow block is just there as packing.

I reckon with the cable £65.00 sounds more realistic but that's just my opinion.

Got this one off of ebay for £70. It finishes the dash nicely.
