Leon Cupra/MK4 Golf Turbo

A friend of mine has a MK4 Golf and sometimes on start up and when he boots it black ish gray smoke comes out the back and felt a slight loss in power

Was wondering if anyone knows if this could be turbo or turbo sills or something else

I dont think it will be turbo related imo. Possibly dirty injectors? Maybe buy some additives and see if that helps or put some expensive fuel in.

Sticky vanes, blocked EGR ..... is this a tdi or a petrol Tris?

Mk4 Golf turbo is no different to a leon.

I would wonder about blocked or sticky EGR ( assuming the petrols have one) what about sticking vanes on the turbo or maybe crap in the intake manifold?

Dirty injectors will lean the air fuel mixture of the fuel which can cause a loss of power.

My mate has been really busy with work and a new baby and has not had time to get it sorted and guess what it was the turbo as it went pop
So if anyone knows where we can find him a K03s please let me know
