Does anyone know what insurance group this engine will be placed in? I've looked on the Seat website but that part is blank. I have used confused.com etc but no-one has the Stylance 1.4 TSI listed yet.

Thanks but I can't see that as being correct.

I did do a search on confused.com and looked at the Golf as it's the same engine.

Golf S 1.4 TSI would be £217.13
Golf S 1.6 FSI would be £213.11.

I can't see the Leon being very much diifferent.

Nice to hear that about the 170, I have an uncle looking at buying one in the GT Sport Golf, 18,000miles oct 06 for <£13,000

I was offered my company car (GT TSi 170) which will be 12 month old in April and 14k miles on the clock for £14,250. Someone's gonna get a real bargain

Went into two dealerships who rung up head office. Turns out to be a 8E. This was a deciding factor for me too as i am not sure whether to get the 1.6 or 1.4 atm.

Thanks.

Still waiting on a reply from Seat.

I have decided on the 1.4TSI though.

Just to update.

My insurance company confirm that the 1.4 Tsi is a group 8 but at the moment they don't have it on their systems. Their underwiriters have advised them to enter it as a VW Passat as that is the nearest equivalent.

Strangely enough it works out as an £8 odd refund on my insurance for my current VW Gold 1.9 Tdi. Policy was taken out on 3rd February so it seems to be more or less identical in price although I don't remember my Golf being a group 8.

Should get the car on March 1st.

Surely, what Seat say will not be what your preferred insurance company may say

If the model is not quoted on an insurance search suggest you contact your preferred insurance company direct?

Personally I am with Direct Line which will never appear on a "General Search" because they cut out the middle man and you have to get a quote from them direct. Not always the best but, as an old git, have not found one to beat them yet
