gearbox query

im in need of a new gear box and ive found one on ebay its off a 2l 16v engine and mine is a 2l 8v does it make any difference will it fit

it wont fit m8 . you need an 020 box . you will be able to get your old one reconditioned tho . your looking at a steep bill tho

i no yh how much you think im looking at to have a gearbox recondtioned and fitted? will any garage do it?

had a mobile mechanic round he said its the gearbox and the gearbox inspection plate has been blown out and ripped to shreads

ive been qouted by a specialist that recon and repair gearboxes been qouted £630+vat to get the car picked up, taking old one out replacing with a new refurb one and puttting car all back together again and oil etc

dont really know how much these things are what you rekon????

that sounds about right m8 , i paid 600 recently for my box fully reconditioned , but i got new driveshafts in that price too

I paid £513.50 for a new refurbed gearbox fitted and with 1 years guarentee. That was from Mr Clutch (not some back street garage lol). Im sure they have garages nationwide. Have a look around before you say yes to anyone.
