Common Rattles??

i have loads of rattles coming from various placses, so just wondering if anyone knows of any common rattles that are easy to fix?? cheers

P.S could it be the dead body in my boot??

only rattle i kinda have at the mo, is from the boot panel if i turn the stereo up a bit! kinda my fault really as it never went back into place properly after de-wipering the rear window

passenger airbag area for the first 2mins from cold start.

Slight rattle top left of speedo area, a slight tightening of the small screw underneath should fix.

Just turn the music up louder

ive got a bootlid rattle and a rattle top left of spedo!! i also have the most annoying squeek coming from the radio but only when i go round left corners!! it goes away if i push by the heater controls lol

i think everyone suffers from the boot rattle! i've took my boot plastic off. i think its coming from the locking mechanism for the key. may need some grease putting on it?
it tends to only rattle when accelerating hard in a high gear.
i'll tighten everything ican see

yep i got boot rattle aswell but i adjusted the rubber bungs where the bootlid shuts so they stick out more therefore making the boot close tighter that solved my prob, try that

i had the same rattles as a few people metioned: boot rattle and top left of speedo

bootlid: i replaced all the metal clips that were bent and where the bottom of the plastic trim of the boot touches the plastic trim bodywork (if u open the boot and look directly at the bottom of the plastic trim u will probably see where its been rubbing) i used "fab foam". got it from an arts and craft shop... about 75p for an A4 sheet, self adhesive about 2mm thick foam. stuck a spall square of that where the "rub" marks were and no rattles now

speedo: undid the screw holding the plastic (underside of the visor bit over the speedo) and pulled it apart just enough to stick really thin strip of fab foam in there (cant see it as its inside). did the screws back up and no more rattles!!

there are a few really quite ones now... but i cant tell where they are coming from!! so im going to leave them

i had that one too actually... took a while to find but i found mine was the lamda sensor after the cat, the wires were pushing against the heat shield and causing a squeek/rattle. pushed the heatshield on further and moved the wires slightly sorted it

everything that could rattle in mine, does rattle! Even my 6x9's have started doing it so turning up my music doesn't even work anymore!

anyways, i'll gonna try both the fixes (bootlid and speedo) and have a look behind the glove box

Glad I'm not the only one suffering with these. I have the boot and top-left speedo rattles but might try people's suggestions above. Drives me mad when I've not got any music on.

i forgot i changed my door pins to chrome ones and now it just rattles all the time!! im going to sort it out tomoz. this one was my fault tho! lol

I had this too, i dismantled the radio centre console and handbreak etc, there is a bracket of some sort that attaches the centre console to the floor, i unscrewed the screw in it, threw it away and never heard it since. even when turning left.. lol.

Still trying to solve the boot rattle tho!

Yeh i get the boot lid one every now and then. My main rattle is from the stereo area. The most annoying high pitch squeal. Stops if i press just below the station numbers. Gotta get it sorted as it is slowly driving me to insanity
