now that would have got the rage going, a huuge wheely bin like that!

ill get better pics up when its dry, after looking again, it looks like few dents, like a bin could have bounced down the wing!

I had a much worse dent on the front wing of an EP3 Civic Type R I had. If you look at them they have a very distinct straight line running the full length of the wing and my dent, about the size of a football, ran straight through it.

Dent devil's came out and charged £60 + VAT and I and no one else could tell it had been dented.

However you say your's has broken the paint? I would probably just replace the panel if that's the case.

Dent Devils told me it's a myth about how dents should 'pop out'. Apparently if the dent simply pops out it means the metal has lost it's ridged strength meaning the dent would simply knock back it very easily. He said the panel is reformed by tapping gently to reshape it and can only be done if the metal is still strong. He was tapping away for nearly 1 1/2 hrs and it was painful to watch! lol

I hope you get it fixed, that would really annoy me. One reason I have pulled both our car's right up the driveway tonight hidden by the house from the wind.

it just annoys me to the point of sheer rage, i have anger issues as it is, and ive had a reaaaally good week! up until i walked out this morning and saw it

i just couldnt believe my eyes

i ALMOST kicked it myself, as it was already foobarred, but restrained.

absolutely gobsmacked and now going to be out of pocket due to somebodies incompetence

yeah people have said maybe its my responsibnility to move the bin after its emptied, but if they leave it in such a place that if it did fall, it would hit a car, then thats unacceptable if you ask me

I have had a similar issue at my flat..... although no bins were harmed.

Some prat drove in to the front wing and bumper of my car and then drove off.

I think i know who did it but I can't prove it. The police wont have anything to do with it as it is on private land.

Any ideas what i can do?

I posted a letter through the door of every flat in my block asking if anyone has seen anything or knows anything. so far not a whisper..... so will approach the guy who i think did it in a few days.

See what he has to say.

Where is the normal collection point?

Was the bin in it's usual storage place when the wind blew it into your wing?

is it contractors or council bin men?

You might get something out of them, if you did claim...

they won't put it through their insurance as the excess will be too much, most depot managers would just settle for a damage claim like that.

Council are coming to asses tuesday

there is no 'Collection point'
people just put their bins on the path by the car park
Council bin men
Bin was not in storage place

Well stand firm..

their hardware, their crew, their collection, your property has been damaged.

All their contracts should have something with indemnifies you against damage as a result of their neglect.. and leaving the containers out where they can cause damage like that should be considered as non performance in a proper and workmanlike fashion....

Be prepared with a (sensible) quote for the repairs and if they offer you a cheque, grab it........;)
