My Ibiza Sport with a K&N 57i induction kit. Just to show you really.

Makes a lot of noise but will loose you power especially in the summer as you will get serious heat soak issues. Your car was designed with a forced air induction system for a reason, to suck in cold dense air. All you are going to do with an open cone filter is suck in lots of hot not very dense air which means less power.

The PD150 FMIC is very good and doesn`t need changing. The CDA airfilter is more for when you go hybrid turbo as a VT5 is twice the size of your stock turbo and can suck twice the air.
Oh i see. Ok cool thanks for info...at least i know when i get a big turbo later this year that i will need the CDA.

I've changed back to stock panel filter now, and have removed my K&N.
Not driven it yet, but i don't expect to notice any difference (i didn't when i put the K&N in) but if it offers less restriction to air flow and still filter the air properly, it can't be a bad thing.

Surely the turbo would ruin all attempts to create a cold air feed? Also wouldnt the intercooler sort out any higher intake temps (to a certain degree)

If someone wants to buy me a PD160 air intake and the adapter (and possibly new air filter! :D) I'll do a straight swap for my Induction kit? Cost £80+ new.

sorry for refreshing this thread, but has anyone ever measured the power of the car on the dyno with the Green Panel Filter (or any other Panel Filter) and the OEM one (in a car without modded maps etc)?
I'm asking cause some cars show decrease of Power with Panel Filters installed and I love my BHP to much to lose any... :D

As soon As I get Green Panel filter I'll check it on the dyno and inform you about the results. Most probably I'll do three measurements -> OEM filter + OEM intake, GREEN FILTER + OEM intake and GREEN FILTER + PD160 intake. Just need to do some shoping first :)
