• Hey Guest👍👎 We're looking for reviews of your local CUPRA or SEAT Dealership - it's quick and easy to do: Leave a review now
personally I think the thread is a good one and when you do get the remap done just search for this thread and update it
:D

I won't try and cause too much trouble, but do you know if there is much benefit from getting a front Strut Brace fitted (I reckon I can do it myself - six bolts)?

to be correct you should have started a new thread for this as it has now gone off topic "very naughty"

but anyway, some say it helps handling and some say that in a light crash on one wing you will need both sides of the car fixed as the brace pushes the other wing out

also there is debate over telling your insurance as it's a mod where as others say it's a dealer option like a tow bar or cruise control or a sun roof

personally I don't have one as I find the car handles fine in stock form

I'm not here to argue.
We're looking at gentle moderation here. Just looking for a little restraint on superfluous posts?

Sorry about the PMs, :hide:

I was interested in this thread because of claimed remap gains. The celtic tuning remap was what I wanted to go for but the figures now look a bit high. Will be interesting to see if the remap gets its claimed power :D

To be honest I'd be happy with 145, but 150 has been quoted . . . . .

(they've honoured the price that they quoted me last June, so I've saved £40 there)

Well the bloke from Celtic Tuning has just left and after a brief test drive I can confirm that the motor doesn't 'alf bloody shift now !! I suppose only a rolling road will give a true picture of the horsepower increase, but I've no reason to think it's not 150bhp as promised!! In gear acceleration is certainly a LOT better. He also told me I wouldn't notice the full difference until I'd put a few more miles on the car . . . . so time will tell for the full potential !! :funk:

Watch this space!

And as far as 'Celtic Tuning' are concerned they have been very professional and although they were late in turning up they kept in touch and told me when they would be arriving - recommended!

Good to hear such good service. Not trying to pick or anything, but would you be able to tell 140bhp over 150bhp? ;)

Already got the siggy updated with 150bhp aswell! Ive used the lowest read in my siggy for my bhp, guess its personal taste, I could put up 190bhp in mine with my mods I guess, but hey :)

Glad your happy with it, now go and upset a few petrol heads ;)

will post my figures up after a proper rolling road, tbh with my decat, filter 160 intake and remap I would be happy to see 150bhp let alone with just a standard remap. Dont know many remaps that add 50% to the engine

It might be 140, it might be 160 and I probably couldn't tell the difference! But I know for certain that it is a great improvement over the standard map and I'm happy with it and surely thats all that matters! :funk: Replacement panel filter next, with maybe a bigger intake pipe (like the PD160) and also maybe a strut brace. I'll try and get it RR'd if I can find it cheap enough.

<<Trip to Nurburgring 10th May from NE England if anyone is interested in tagging along with some other experienced 'ringers' >>

I've read that thread, but it's mid-week so I'd have to take a day off work - not good !! A Saturday morning would be MUCH better and I guess you'd get more people attending.
