P1155 - 35-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent
17664 - Engine Coolant Temp.Circ Open/Short to B+
P1256 - 35-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent

hers the 3 fault codes that showed up on vag-com this morn when me and knotty of here scanned my car

my car is overboosting and from what i can see its gonna need a new map sensor, am i right?

i think the 1st 2 codes are related, the last 1 is a mystery

last night i fitted a boost bleed valve which makes the n75 usless now so its stopped overboosting but the boost takes longer to kick in now and it goes into limp mode in 4th and 5th before the boost kicks in, im not sure why, mabye the car doesnt like the fact that the boost is taking longer to kick in than it usually did

Seems a bit odd that you're getting a fault with the coolant temp sensor as well, both sensors reporting the same type of fault...

The overboosting could be a result of incorrect readings from the MAP.

what engine/ecu is it? it's no use making mod's until you have fixed the original faults, just go round in circles, I sounds like a wiring fault which needs checking before spending serious money

I would say sticky VNT and or exhaust restriction (CAT blockage/restriction, too much back pressure)

It is as well to have the map tested.

I think the coolant sensor fault is possibly unrelated.

thers no centre section or back box so i doubt there is any exhaust restriction and its not mapped

I mean the Manifold Air Pressure sensor next to the intercooler.

While you've got a fault codes saying the MAP sensor could be faulty, I would strongly suggest you concentrate on fixing that before thinking about VNT/turbo issues - as they could quite likely just be a result of faulty MAP readings and nothing else.

My 110 A4 threw the same intermittent manifold pressure & MAP short to B+ DTC's when i had a damaged CAT.

The brick/matrix had started to break up and block the CAT, and was causing limp mode under load.

Could well be something else though.

Limp mode generally creates a temporary fault code, no glow plug/engine management or CEL lights.
