Decided to give me car a full clean today ready before GTi Fest, also the fact it hasn't been polished or waxed or anything since the end of summer/beginning of autumn.

Anyway, I rinsed, washed, rinsed, dried. Then I decided to use some autosol on my alloys, love the finish, and really does get rid of some nasty marks!

Then I set to polishing. usually I apply to two panels, remove from first panel, apply to a 3rd and remove from 2nd (if that makes sense). Anyway, this time I decided to apply polish to the whole car and then remove. All was goin well, removed polish from roof, bonnet, boot, start drivers side *is that rain i see?* sh1t! Quickly buffered off the rest of the car. Can't believe it started raining. Not even had chance to get it waxed.

Funny thing is, now i've posted this, it's stopped raining! Can't be arsed to go back out and polish and wax again. Anyone got any tips if this happens again? Should i just go over with a towel to dry it and redo the last step I was at?

Nothing like a nice polished black one ;)

Yea, theres an easy way, rinse off the rain drops with an open ended hose or watering can, the water will just sheet off, leaving a minimal amount to mop up.

As you can see from this clip, sheeted water just, well, sheets off :D

Once you've mopped up, give it a wipe down with quick detailer & it will look awesome again [B)]

i know what you mean, it started snowing the other weekend i was polishing the car!
that made me think..should i really be doing this?!?!?! didnt stop me though as i only had a little more to do. likewise no time for the wax
g :D

I MIGHT give it another attempt sunday. supposed to be a meet, but so far only 2 of us goin :D lol. Then it needs cleaning again before GTi Fest

It happened to me a couple of days ago! got my FR out and the other halfs leon.

Nice bright morning, so wash alloys first...

Started on my FR..wash, dried and halfway through waxing it starts raining GRRRR...quickly finished and left it at that...

The leon has nice clean wheels and exhaust! but the bodywork is filthfy from our trip to longleat and back! hahaha (yet to wash it still....)

back home, and after almost a 50mile round trip, it's still looking clean for once :D

ha ha, i can picture it now. sat night comes after a long hard day of waxin and polishin, and you've fallen asleep next to the car on the cold floor with a sleepin back over ya :D
