Hello guys,

Spoke to my dealer today and he says my K1 is built week 18, end of May.

Anybody else (sure I have seen some of you) received this date for your dliveries too??

Mine is build week 19 commencing 05th May.
Irfan reckons collection will be 3/4 weeks after that.

When the cars arrive at port the K1 kit is fitted.
I wonder what happens to all the cupra bumpers?

You usually find bumpers on ebay. The back bumper with the centre exhaust probably foes back to Spain.

So really the orders are for cupras ??

They arrive here as standard Cupras and then have the K1 kit fitted at port of entry. Somewhere there should be a stockpile of standard Cupra bumpers.

Although similar to the Aero kit, it is actually a K1 kit with exclusive exhaust trim and central rear exhaust bumper aperture.

You're now fully informed!

I took delivery of mine last week although it was held up at port for over a week due to a shortage of the Remus back boxes. Prepare to be shocked by the fit and finish of the bumpers :( - mines already booked in for paintwork and a re-allignment - and mine was one of the better ones!! There was a black one delivered to my local dealer and the gap and fit of the bumpers and rear spoiler was shocking.

I was going to say I could se that happening. They really should be done at the factory from the outset. Surely the transportation and surplus of OE cupra bumpers will waste more resources sorting that out.

Actually interestingly enough the complete back box is changed and its not a Seat part it's a mild steel Remus back box. Not any noisier or better flowing than standard though.

Any images of the ill fitting bumper and poor paint? Not so happy with my spray job.

For info, the practice of fitting items at the port of entry is fairly standard other manufacturers do the same and certainly my Astra SRi had the spoiler fitted at the port of entry in Hartlepool.

Seems excessive though that SEAT build the car as a standard Cupra and then remove bits to add the K1 kit. I suppose it must be cheaper.

Does anyone who where the K1 kit is actually manufactured?

well all the K1 body kit parts are stamped MS Designs so I presume thats the manufacturer - I think they make body kits for loads of different brands. Mitsubishi were always bad for fitting stuff at port - my evo had its alarm, headlights and its leather trim all done at port.

with ref to shoddy paintwork i'll take some pics when i get home. Basically I'm not happy with the colour match of the body kit parts to the main car. Also I have something under the paint on the passenger door. There is also a huge chip out the paint on the passenger door which looks like its happened while some monkey has been fitting the kit. There is also adhesive on my rear window which appears to be impossible to move - more than likely the stuff used to bond the rear spoiler on.

my garage just phoned to say mine in on the ship this week. Not looking forward to finding anything amiss with the bodykit though. Hoping mines done on a Monday not a Friday
