Shall I wait until car is out of warranty before fitting mods?

Hey all. I've had my FR around 2 months now, lovin every bit

I've made minor mods (aftermarket hu, sub & amp) and have purchased green panel filter and Cupra intake (still undecided on front splitter). I can't make my mind up whether to install the remaining parts or just wait until my warranty is over, can you guys help me decide?

Thing is the car is under my dads name until I pay him off for it and dunno whether any others have been in my situation?

go for it!!

yep done the same as you with aftermarket hu, sub and amp and airfilter. but went a little further with exhaust and wheels... but it'll never be as fast as your FR (formula sport)

it also depends on what other mods u have in mind regarding warranty??

im in the same situation as you with the car under my dads name but he never gets to drive it and i do pay towards nearly all of it, so it's kinda mine anyway lol

im pretty sure anthing engine wise you do will invalidate your warrenty if found. you can easily remove the things you have mentioned if the worst comes to the worst!

i have my green filter and intake on plus im getting it remapped in a couple of weeks and just hoping for the best...

Nothing will invalidate your warranty unless it causes damage to something. Then that part wont be covered under warranty.

Replacing the stock air filter with a green panel one isn't likely to cause any damage, especially as most people on here do it! I had my MAF sensor replaced under warranty while the green panel was fitted.

ye same here. I'm paying for all the maintenance and my part of insurance, so practically is my car, but you know how it is when parents go on about the fact that they bought it it's theirs until we pay it off...

I know what you mean i've done exactly the same thing. I've got green cotton filter and the intake at the minute, i just take the filter out when it goes for a service. I've nearly paid for the car only £6300 then i can do what i want to it. Remap and exhaust straight away lol can't wait only thing is i will probably want a cupra by then lol.

Yeah, i had this dilemma a couple years back...

1 yr old FR, so i didnt want to mod it for warrenty reasons!

Now its nearing 3 yrs old, ive got a remap coming this weekend. Saving up for Coilovers and possibly a mufflerectomy this summer!

lol...i don't think i can hold out 3 yrs i'm gona install my panel filter, intake, sub n amp this weekend...

got a good quote with greenlight with a remap, but still unsure whether to do it when the car is still under warranty but still got a good while til decision time comes

Yeah, i know i didnt think i could wait that long, but i have! ive just done all the mods that wont viod warranty!

I know how annoying it is when there is 40 odd hp to be released for very little money. I guess its weight the good and bad!
