Aerial Removal Help

As my previous post was scrapped ive had to repost. Ive tried pulling it off but it looks like im gonna rip the base off. Ive unscrewed it so it folds down to the spoiler. Any ideas?

The posts I've read about it say, unscrew it all the way, support/push down on the mounting point and pull like feck.
I have'n't done this but have read a few have with success

Yep thats the way to do it!!

Get up on a pair of steps so you get a comfortable position over the aerial, hold the base with one hand and pull with the other - worked for me

i slid a pair of needle nosed pliers between the aerial and the base and levered upwards... and it popped off... no chance of denting the roof heaving about that way..

lol yup i reopened it because IMO it shouldnt have been in there! I had a go this morning and no success. Il try the step ladder one next. Bloody good anti-theft devices though lol

took me ages to get it off the ibiza too, lots of pulling and twisting!

does the ball thing the threads attached to in the housing actually come out?

yes it does give it a hard pull mate soon pop out.

kool thanks. Also does the screw come out as the aerial ive bought to replace this seems to have a shorter thread although it states its for VAG cars GOLF etc. Im assuming i can just swop the threads?

No mine fitted fine you might want to unscrew it a bit more but with a bit of pressure my thread caught into the mount.

Yeah I had to do the same as Lee, if you wind the stud you get with the aerial fully into the aerial there's not enough thread to screw it into the base mount.

The stud does not come out of the original aerial.

Just went and bought a honda S2000 aerial for my leon cupra r, as I had one on my mk4 golf and it looked ok.

But when I tried to take my old one off it just unscrews to a certain level, then just keeps on turning and turning and its driving me nuts, Anyone got any ideas???

Just needs a realy good pull mate as its a anti theft one and thats why its just turning.
