I'd rather the parking cost went staright to charity rather than have to give the extra myself, they rob us enough with the prices of food, drink, tickets, merchandise, oxygen!

Essentially it is, SCN is footing the majority of the bill by paying for the parking. But what I have suggested i we gather this money plus a bit extra back and we'll donate it all to a charity. So SCN isn't making any of its money back, as all of the proceeds from the parking will go to the charity.

It's more about a point were trying to make than anything else.

I certainly don't make anything out of it, all the running about I'll have to do, the postage costs that won't be claimed for. Just to get us together as a group for a fun day at the racing.

Sadly if MSV continue this policy though this is the first and last time we can afford to do it.

Wont be there this year, car still on life support but after the great times I've had over the last 4 years I'd be happy to pay the £5 to charity anyway any let somebody else eat my bap and drink my tea (two sugars please)!!!:D

OK, how about this, with the VAT, the cost to SCN will be £176.25, for arguements sake, let say £180.

At a fiver a head, thats 36 cars.

As SCN can't afford to do this, why not take the initial outlay back from the first 36 cars. That is no profit, but more importantly, no loss. This £180 could then be constantly set aside for the group parking at future MSV venues.

Any monies after the first 36 cars could then be donated to a suitable charity (Headway is a good one, as this helps people who have sustained head injuries, some of which I am sure must be Race Drivers/Riders)

Just a thought, but it makes sense to recoup the outlay, then any profits donate to charity.

I guess its all about how badly people want the group parking

I don't really know anyone here yet but I'd be up for going and paying a fiver. That sounds pretty good to me. I'm going both days and have never been to Oulton Park before.

What Z's suggesting is 'we' ie SCN coffers foot the £150+VAT and pay off MSV; then charge members £5 a head, and donate all that money to a charity

I understand this, but this would then leave SCN £150+ out of pocket (bad times)

If the first £150+ of money went back into the "Kitty" so to speak, it would then pay for the next time (that MSV are bound to ask for) SCN is asked for payment for parking.

So, for example, if at Oulton, SCN has 50 cars, there is £70 for charity.

Then, if MSV again ask the same for Brands Hatch, the set aside money could cover the cost again. then for arguements sake, if another 50 cars are at Brands, there would be money back in the kitty, and then another £70 for charity.

Then it just rolls on to next season, and with at least 4 meetings a year at MSV venues, that 4 donations a year

At 50 cars a time thats £280 a year to charity, SCN stay in the black, GOOD TIMES for everyone

Don't worry so much about SCN, its got enough of a float to sustain itself. If we were going to struggle I wouldn't of offered it.

But it's not something we can do for every round for obvious reasons the money would soon dry up. So if it becomes the norm, then maybe we would have to do as you suggest.

But this time out were just trying to emphasise a point.

Totally agree with TDiLeonMike above. I don't think anybody expects people here to be left out of pocket because of greedy race track managers.

I will be at Oulton and am willing to pay the £5 for parking, charity donation a great idea. Free bacon bap and coffee always welcome.

I will be coming aswell tickets arrived on tuesday, Nice idea for the Bacon Bap mmmmm :p.

How do we pay for the tickets or do we pay on the day?

WE Will be there seems a small charge to pay to know your car isnt going to get scratched.dented and scuffed by someone in the general parking area and if it tonks it down atleast you can see through the windows.

I am happy with paying the fiver especially if some of it goes to Charity.

HOWEVER make sure that if we are paying MSVR we had better get a damn good spot big enough for the number of cars PLUS the "hospitality " tent. Last years spot was good right in front of the Fogarty Moss centre at Cascades. We dont want them sticking us in the 40 acre field.

Also as we are paying do we get to use the posh loos in the Fogarty Moss centre. (old age, weak bladder and all the excitement etc.)

I am really looking forward to this one. I am going on the Friday for the test session and Saturday for qualifying etc. (Look for the Leon FR TDI with the Big SCN sticker in the back window) Not only will I be shouting for Plato and Turner but also watch out for Ben Winrow in the Clios and Josh Hill in the Ginettas.

and the weather forecast looks good

A Fiver Extra, well worth while, Count Me In.

I'm up for paying a fiver providing we get a decent spot, somewhere like last year would be ideal.

Think the charity idea (and bacon sandwich!) both sound like a good idea.
If MSV allow SCN to setup marque and do food/drink I'd be more than happy to pay more and extend the bacon butty and brew to a lunch time burger and pop too, providing the chef wouldn't mind!!

Nice idea fella, but i dont think we are going to extend the offer that far. Its quite easy to do bacon and sausage baps first thing, we've got a generator to power kettles etc, but burgers etc means bar b que etc . One step at a time....

Well for the meetings I attend, I'll do what ever is needed for group parking.

1) Cars are safer
2) Can't beat the atmosphere of a agroup of supporters all together (in any sport)

Didn't mean to sound abrasive but chef's are anyone of us that can be arsed to do it at the time we are a nice friendly bunch really

Fair play, didn't know what the set up was or whether it was even feasible.

Cupracar - I didn't mean by chef that we'd have some poor soul slaving away!, all for everyone ploughing in!.

Just hope we can get a decent spot and the weather holds out for the day.

I will instruct my menials to escort him to the inner sanctum of the marquee and welcome him personally. If you want, I will introduce him to you.
