Why is everyone complaining... I love a bit of aquaplaning in the wet! My 1.4 is always being thrown round roundabouts when its wet (when theres no other cars around that is)

Although I recently was sliding towards a kerb and all I could think about were my lovely un-kerbed alloys!

I'm a bit confused but AFAIK aquaplaning and sliding in the wet are two different things.

Aquaplaning happens on the motorway/ long stretch of flat road where you hit a puddle and the car wheels almost run on the surface of the puddle (like Jesus walking on water ) and the drive wheels effected by aquaplaning start to wheelspin. So you can have your 1.4 wheelspinning at 80mph :drive1:.

Sliding around in the wet around roundabouts and corners has not much to do with aquaplaning but more of crappy tyres and reduced grip due to wet surface. And any car will do that when pushed hard enough in the wet (or in the dry)

aquaplaning is not understeering at 30mph round a wet corner

Mig

Point taken... I was talking about pushing it in the wet! Aquaplaning on the motorway at high speed is pretty scary!

Are you comparing the Ibiza to Jesus?! Beezas are good but not that good

DPJ shift the michelins, in my experience they are as bad as wanli's in the wet. Uniroyal Rainsports II's are excellent in the wet, they really shift standing water.

I think its because the michelins are banded up the middle where the rainsports arnt and seem to be able to clear more water quicker.
