Headlight Alignment - Hows yours?

Hey,

Parked in front of a wall today whilst my lights where on and noticed that the passenger headlight is higher than the drivers side by a good 8-10" .... is this normal? When I had my Leon FR 150 they were pretty much 'level' with the exception the drivers one pointed towards the passenger side a tad.

Which way should they be? should I pop it into the VW Specialist and just get them realigned? wouldnt be that expensive id imagine? or are my lights ok?

Shouldn't be that much higher and it's only £10 +vat at our local MOT place to get them done

I took mine to a VW dealer after fitting my HIDs and the master tech did them for free. But - he couldnt find the kick up on the passenger side so had to guess where to level that one too and did it by eye. Your passenger side normally sits higher (thats the kick-up) to illuminate things on that side of the road, ie the path and bushes etc etc. and give you a better view without blinding on coming traffic.

Most garages should be able to do headlight alignment for a small fee, so if you're worried get it to a garage. You'll be amazed how much better you can see things with properly aligned headlights

Im getting some HIDs next month so will have a word with the local VW Specialist to see what he says on the matter, cheers for the replies
