What tyre width?

Just a quick one folks... getting tyres sorted for my new rims (17") this week and was wondering: What width to go for? Do I go with 205/40/17 or 215/40/17? I don't have any suspension mods so riding standard FR setup. Will the 215s rub?

no the 215 will be best for traction and handling no rubbing at all

i might invest in wider ones if they don't rub what about slightly thicker tyres (wall thickness)?

Ive been running 215's on my standard pre-facelift FR wheens for years (they are only 16's!)

If I had 17's I would go 225 which would be tight on the front, but do-able.

215's ARE perfectly fine on my 16's, and at one point I ran 8mm spacers on the front and 25mm spacers on the back with these tyres and had no problem

ive had no problems with mine... and mines low on the front with coilovers

they will be fine, if 225.40.18's fit on my mk4 golf then 215,45,17 should fit the ibiza....

I have 17s 205 40 loadsa room. screaming for lowereing! I considered 125 just saw pic of my wheel on people's cars on here and I liked the look

I've got some 215 40 toyo proxes t1-Rs to put on mine. Just wondered if i should be inflating to a similar pressure as recommended for the 205s or if it should be slightly more? Also has anyone noticed a difference in mpg?

go with the feel i would say mate...usually 30-32psi is recommended on most tyre sizes

i ran 225/45's for months lowered 147mm on 8.5j and 9j with no worries

its a crap tyre size though lol

i would say the same pressure mate... no idea on the mpg but the more pressure the more mpg u will see....
