I've nothing agaist diesels and was seriously thinking about getting one, learnt to drive in a mk3 1.9TDI Cool, loved my company's 1.9TDI mk5 Golf i had to use at one stint. But my hates is the smell, the noise, and the short power band.
Fine there's advancement such as particulate filters, better fuels, and better engines (total respect and admoration for the BMW diesels and units used by Land Rover that sound like gas turbine engines) but still i just cant see the love of filling up at the garage ( i love the smell of unleaded, and the 99 ron doesnt smell much at all), and then a french diesel car shows up, major turn off!
If those 3 issues are resolved, i'll be getting one. Incidentally, i'm trying to convince my parents to get a VW Touran with the 1.9TDI block. Much respect for the 1.4TSI engine too, i wonder if Seats will have engine too??

213, prolly more around 225 as it was dynoed on 95RON at the time. 317nm of torque, you do the math to your footpounds of torque, i can't be arsed.
1240kg for the petrol, over 1300kg for the diesel.
I do 6.2secs to 60, how's yours comming?
Take that up with him bud. Im just stating facts. End of the day who cares. Chances are youre never going to come accross one another so why bother with the bull sh*t.
