hi there im wantin to lower my fr an i can either buy full springs n shocks?which are 50mill...are coilovers? which do i go for and why?? will coilovers go lower

Lots of people on here have very different opinions. Some will say go coilovers and some will say just springs and dampers. Some might even say your OK with just springs for a small drop.
The best thing to do is to contact one of the parts suppliers on this forum and actually speak to them about what you are after eg. just a drop or track setup etc. They will be the best to advise you of the types of options you have and might get you a better price than you will find looking on the internet

A drop in ride height is something I have thought about but I want to maintain comfort for the high mileage I do each year. I will probably go for a small drop on springs or a damper and spring set! Good luck.

You may be pushed to find a spring and damper set up that offers a 50mm drop for the Ibiza 6L, most are around the 30mm area. Coilovers may be your only choice to get that drop and if so, i'd say go for something like the Weitec's which are great for everyday road use and not crashy and harsh like a lot of coilovers on the market.

so its soundin like these coilovers r more for tracks..the springs n dampers came to around £270 and its a 50mil drop.soundin best thing at min £115 just for springs so may as well change lot for 270

go for the ultimate flexibillity option lol

ibiza_fr, your car looks very similar to mine, have a look at my picture, see what you think of a black fr on weitec hicon GT's. front is lowered about 35/40mm, back is lowered 60mm.

I can provide you with other picture if my ones on here arent that great, but at work at the moment so would e-mail you them this evening if required :)

you car looks good, nose down wins everytime :)

is it possible to get adjustable spring/shock set up? looking for abou a 40mm drop on the back and a 30mm at the front or something like that.

Cheers mate :) Still need the rear spacers, want Eibach or H&R's, just trying to justify twice the cost! Also still a little confused about the fitment, ie bolt to hub then the wheel, or just longer bolts through the whole lot. Not sure which is strongest.

Sorry bit of a thread hijack.

Bolt on spacers are only availabvle 20mm and above. Hope this helps.

I tried HR 35 mm lowering springs on my ibiza FR 1.8T and apart from being extremely hard, the car was much higher at the rear than at the front (20 mm difference I think) - looked really bad.... Maybe this is the case for all spring alone kits for the ibiza mk4?

I finally went for FK silverline coilovers - still hard, but acceptable, and it looks so much better :)

Do you want it as low as Dannys? :D

I have H&R -35mm springs. The rear is higher than front but thats not a new thing. What comes to the ride, I personnally think its more comfortable than the original FR setup. Although if you have any spare cash, you should go for coilovers, like Eibach or KW.
