Hi All,

Im looking at getting one of the first facelift leon cupras. Now I have seen in sales listings that they are 180hp, but what I want to know is what turbo is it on the car?

Is it a K03 turbo with a different map on the ecu or is it like the Golf Mk4 anniversary where it has the K03s turbo on it?

Cheers

Alex

(Most) the ones with AUQ engines have a K03S.

The reason whyy Im asking is because I want one with a K03s tubo on it. Now my budget is £4000 and for that I can easliy get a pre facelift car for that, but it is harder to find a good low milage facelift version.

Would you have said, if I have to go for a pre facelift version post 2002 should be ok?

Cheers

Plenty of good 2002 pre-facelift cars about.

I know there are loads of really nice prefacelift versions about, but I prefer the look of the facelift bumpers.

Have you mapped your cupra?

Cheers

yep as dave said if its AUQ engine it will have the ko3s. and 2002 will be AUQ.

The only issue is personal taste. As the facelift to me looks a lot nicer better body kit bigger/better wheels.

i think a lot of the time i should of waited a bit later to buy the facelft as all i want to do now is get the new bumpers to make mine look a lot nicer

engines are bullit proof really so as long as its not stupid mileage then i would go facelift

Well Mileage wise I am seeing the facelift modes coming up at the right sort of money but with around 90k on them. I really want one around the 60k mark.

It's a very drivable car, but 1st, 2nd and 3rd have limited uses.

I.E not able to be used in the rain?

Just been looking through your thread. What it like on breaking now with the old porsche brakes on it?

On another note, what are the upsides of getting a facelift version, other than the wheels and bodykit?

Better interior? better built? better engine? any more gadgets??

Cheers

many prefacelifts came with leather rain sensing wipers memory seats etc. fully loaded. facelifts lost most of the toys. they got bigger wheels and different bumpers instead

mines jan 01 auq engine so originally had the k03s. 01 onwards should be safe for the k03s but check the engine code to be certain.
