Who are you insured with?
Normally the insurers have a deal set up with a hire company.
I'm insured with Direct Line (RBS group - so also Tesco, Churchill, Privledge etc) and they use Enterprise.
I had paid extra for enhanced hire car, so got a Toyota Auris when my Ibiza was written off.
Am with admiral but the car is coming from arnold clark who are repairing my car what as said its being done at the vw dealership so i think it will probably be a vw
At least the insurance is paying out for it. What is included in the engine replacement? is it just the block and head ect, or will it have new accesories such as alternator turbo ect. If so, can you keep the old engine for spares?
Supose it wouldnt be worth it if its just the block and head. Still, keep us posted about what happens.
When an insurance company pays to fix something like an engine, they will take the cheapest route and any removed and replaced parts will remain their property. If a complete exchange engine is cheaper than a strip down investigate fix and rebuild, then its an exchange engine you will get, if the anciliaries are okay they will get reused.
Hope all gets sorted soon! Ask them to bolt on a Cupra intercooler and PD150 turbo while they're at it. 
If they fit a replacement engine rather than rebuild yours, they will fit what is known as a short engine. this is just the block and cylinder head. all of the other ancillaries will come from your old engine and anything left over will be the property of the insurance company.
Watch out for the bill for plugs, filters, oil and coolant/antifreeze.
Then make sure you run it in as it will not have had any run in treatment from the factory.
why have i to watch the bill for plugs,filter,oil and anti freeze as i will not be paying for it so it makes no difference. Yeh i realise it will need run in again, i cant wait when it goes in for its service in april the wee **** wont replace a think and before you say i have already paid for servicing so it will be going in regardless
Because they are consumable things and your insurance may not cover them if they are replaced. The garage that does it may drain the antifreez and reuse it along with the plugs but the oil will be ditched as it may have metal fragments in it.
Youre insurance does not cover tyres,exzaust, battery or filters and stuff.

Ah right cheer for the warning. Well after much hassle i ended up getting an altea i could have been worse, now its just the wait for then to find me an engine who knows how long that will take
It not down to SEAT its down to the insurance company if they authorise it then SEAT should do it regardless of cost or materials!
Just ask for a copy of the final bill for you vehicle history and then you can see what they have done
