Spot on!

Just replaced all my vac lines today and sure enough the one going to the EGR valve had a split in it.

Sorry for dragging up an old thread but I thought i'd update it incase somebody searches in the future.

Big thanks to b3nny

Hey folks I have this;
16795 - Secondary Air Injection System: Incorrect Flow Detected
P0411 - 35-00 - -

I cleared it last week, now it's back, I have changed most of my vac lines, but I don't think i've done the EGR valve one...

I still have the SAI in place as normal.

So is that hose that I should check, the one coming off the little pump down the front bottom left of the engine?

Hi Seany! another colchester member, what colours yours?

the valve is on the right of the engine if your looking at the car from the front bumper back!

I've removed my sai and fitted a resistor where the N112 was and currently have no fault codes up, although its only been 2 days!

I had just disconnected the N112 for a few days first and was only getting a code saying there was an open circuit at the N112, before that i ALWAYS was getting the incorrect flow back

Just hoping at the moment that it wont come back, or if it does its only once a month or something like that

Hey mate! It's a silver Cupra on a 02 plate, Im often driving around in Colchester, with my mate pulsebass on here, he has a X reg black MK3 too.

I've seen a couple of Cupra's in Colchester, a Dark blue one (very low), a red one near Tollgate, and a silver one once.

I might just take the lot off as well, bit tidier like that lol!

Don’t think I’ve seen you about so far! I’ve seen the blue one a couple of times though.

Mines flash red, reg starts X171

I think my code started appearing when my N112 decided to come off its supporting plate and melt against the back of the engine! Part of the pipe to it ended up with a hole in it aswell.

Decided to get rid of the system and bought a backing plate for where the valve was and also the resistors! The SAI pump was a pain to get off because of its support but the rest was easy!

On day 3 after fitting the resistor and so far no fault code for incorrect flow, before when I was just resetting the code it was coming back every couple of days!

Probably going to do some logging tonight as it’s a bit cooler, need to see how things are running, got a feeling the timing may need adjusting slightly as I was seeing some high CF readings when I last logged

Hmm, I've seen a red one heading down Tollgate way on a Friday evening, I flashed headlights but got a blank response from the driver lol was that you??

My code has returned! I only cleared it last night! Been to work, and on the way back it's back!

Just looked under the bonnet, I changed a lot of vac lines, if the EGR valve is the one that is just near the water temp sensor etc, with a vac hose leading to the N112... Then i've already replaced that one.

I had a look at the SAI pipes, they are that stupid flexi plastic stuff, so hard to tell if theyre split, althought the SAI looked loose down the bottom front left of engine, when I pulled at one of the pipes gently, it moved it about a bit.

Im just gonna order the blanking plates and take that sucker off, did you have to get under the car to do it? Or can you do it all from the top?

I'll have to get some resistors too.

Nope wouldnt have been me! dont really go near tolgate in the evenings at all

Just been out for some logging but near wivenhoe way

I followed the guide in the faq section to remove mine, the only hard part was removing the actual pump as its an under the car job and right next to the oil filter! getting the bracket off that holds it in place was the hardest part. the rest was easy!

might have a spare resistor, so far I've only fitted a resistor to the N112 plug and not bothered with the rest!

I took this picture standing next to the passenger side wing, almost dead centre you can see the silver backing plate I've put in place! this is where the valve was

This is the removed valve

Hi mate, ah ok, yeah I remember seeing those blanking plates for sale from Forge a while back, I finally decided to order one tonight though! :)

Beauty of removing that EGR valve, you don't need a t-piece, can just put the single vac line directly onto the N112 valve.

(As the t-piece looks to only be allowing the EGR vac anyway!)

Might take up that resistor if its needed fella i'll let you know and we can sort a price etc :)
