hi everyone one i've just notice that my nin door light has stopped working all of a sudden could any one tell me what it could be. It works when door is shut but when it open it dose'nt what would it be something of nothing i hope

Could be a number of things but, its probably best to have a look for anything simple like a loose bulb or loose wire.

Check the microswitch on the door frame. Push it in & pull it back out, does the light come on/go off. If it does not work, remove the switch from the door pillar & check that the wires on the back of it are intact.

The switch is not a simple plunger drilled into the door frame. The switch is part off door monitoring unit mounted inside the door casing, not an easy job for the less able mechanics, here is a link on how to fix. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1542461

Have the same problem too, and I'm not the only one. Not sure yet which is the switch for the light on the photo. Gonna have a go at mine when it gets warmer, i'll be posting a fix I hope.
