Hi all

I put my MKII in for its 3rd service and first MOT last week. I also had a fault with the ESP light which turned out to be a failed ABS control module which out of warranty (i.e. this coming Tuesday in my case) would have cost about £1,500 to fix I'm told :wtf: - thank god for the manufacturer warranty. A lesson in there for everyone - always get your last service and MOT done pre warranty expiring!

Anyway my new problem. I picked up the car today after the service desk closed to find that my trip computer is stuck. When I use the selector on the right hand stock to scroll through temp, fuel consumption, miles done etc. it just won't change options.

This problem was definitely not there pre service for sure. It's frozen on miles done and the button doesn't change through the various options. I'm worried as my warranty runs out on Tuesday and I'm not sure if I can get the car down to them in time. Could they have done something when changing the ABS control module do you think?

Anyone came across this before or has any advice on how to deal with this?

Thanks

not a clue what the problem could be, but get on the phone to the service desk as soon as you can (ie before the warranty runs out), and explain that its something theyve done.
even if you cant get there before the warranty expires, if you let them know before it does they should honour it.

this has also happened to me. mines stuck on outside temperature. it happened to mine when i changed the radio as my old one was broken. still haven't figured out a way to fix it though.
if you find a solution will you let me know what the problem is.

Got it into the dealer pre warratny expiry and they admitted they caused the issue when changing the ABS control module. They said they had to re prgramme it (presumably with VAGCOM). So it's now sorted.

Cheers
