HID question

Following my recent failed attempt at "bulbs" im going to buy some HIDS as soon as somebody can clear this up for me.

Those the ones i want in H7 ? Any idea how long postage takes from them ? And are these the HIDS every1 is buying ? And did i read something about cutting a hole somewhere too ? Wheres the best place to fit the box type thingy.

Complete car n00b so help would be appreciated. I tried to search but it timed out

you want 6000k H7 mate. Took about a week to come from wherever it is then 20 mins to put in...easy

yeh the plastic cover on the back you will have to cut a hole usually about 25mm for the wire to come through to the ballast and back to the bulb check that they work first before cutting though

its a bit fiddly to get the bulb holders to click in with the wires but a bit of wiggling and they will work a treat

Just remembvered too mate that i did make a hole in the cases a couple of days after installing them. Not ness. but though id tidy it up.

really just removing your bulbs and pluggin the HIDs in

Says h1 dipped, h7 main.

I thought it was h7 dipped then h1 main (we order h7 HIDS)

i just ordered h7 for normal headlights, Ive never used the high beam since getting them. H7 is right mate, just replacing the standard headlight bulbs

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but wanted to ask peeps who've fitted these exactly what you have to do...before I go spend my money.
Ive read some of the guides and they mention connecting to the battery etc.
Is this right? Also, if you connect the HIDS to the existing wiring, does that mean you lose your high beam?? Sorry, total newbie with these....

You use the spade connectors that power the H7 (dip beam) no going to the battery, unless you buy an extra loom.
