I sent an email to Regal who in turn notified dbilas about this issue. Regal said this hasn't been brought to their attention before and is certainly something they will discuss with dbilas. I asked them to keep me informed.

Nice one, keep us posted please.

I'm possibly going to look at getting the Forge Induction Kit for my Cupra. Has anyone fitted one of these themselves??

I've seen the fittment guide on the Forge website and the Golf in the guide has it's bumper removed. Will it be more difficult to fit the Forge with the bumper left on or I'm better choosing an alternative kit??

I have a £30 off voucher for JKM so it would be more cost effective to buy one from them.

I've also thought about the Carbonio although it's expensive for what it is.

Cheers

i think imho its just not worth spending the money on the carbonio , i rekon a green performance panel filter would do the same thing in the standard airbox location except you wont have the carbon look.
i wont buy a cai until there ared direct logs showing the actual gains , hopefully one of the magazines will get round to doing this.

Not sure if this has been mentioned somewhere in this post but ITG and Forge have new intakes in develpoment due out 'shortly'.

I think the Forge one will be like the 'twintake' for the Scirocco which looks pretty neat to me. Not sure about the ITG one but i believe they are a very reputable company in this arena!

Ill be after a cai shortly for the cupra so this is interesting i was going to go for the dbilas shall have to wait and see what they come up with.

I'v had an email for Forge saying 'out in then next few months' so not sure. I'm def gonna hang on tho. If i knew how to add pics to these threads i'd add the pic of the Scirocco.... anyone got it?

Yes does look good any idea on availability ?

Forge should be announcing info on pricing and availability very soon.. They are at Inters this weekend so I would suggest having a word with them if any of you guys are there, they should be able to give you some more info..

Also my car will be on the Revo stand on the Sunday with the bonnet open so come and have a look at the intake on the car :)

Yep, a cone sat behind the headlight.

Jonny - Is the diameter of yours the same as the stock intake where the MAF is located, and is the MAF positioned centrally in the intake?

Were your air flow figures altered after fitting the kit? The reason I ask is due to this thread here

arent revo in co developing a intake with ITG?

Here it is, as you can see it is the open cone type which generates some debate about the cold air feed and increased noise levels.

I'm wondering if the Forge item will remain reasonably quiet due to the closed air box design.

Closed box does not mean quiet - the Dbilas sounds like Darth Vader :cartman:

that looks a bit **** tbh. Doesnt exactly bring anything new to the table. But if it brings results.....

Not exactly, its 70mm.. That whole MAF adaption thing has been blown out of proportion, just look how many people are our there running intakes with no problems what so ever, 2 or 3 people find problems and then everyone panics!! haha..

I dont have any Vag Com figures pre and post fitting.. I just know for sure that the car pulls smoother and stronger throughout the whole rev range..

what does it sound like?

I wanted forge to make this one

Why? The new intake made 10bhp more than the intake pictured.. Thats why that design was dropped in favor of the 'Twintake'

Its pretty quiet, you know its there, but not as intrusive as an open filter sat in the engine bay.. But to be honest, my car is so loud with the exhaust and tyres, that its difficult to say just how loud it would seem on a more standard car..
