Hi guys,

Basically, the previous owner of my car decided it would look good to put on some Ripspeed footpedals. They've always been something I've been meaning to change, but have never got round to. I always thought it would be a relatively simple swap, but now I have a problem. Heres a pic

I took off the clutch and brake, and found a metal bit which had been drilled through to fix the pedals on. The original rubber ones just slip over these so it would be easy. But the accelerator is different, the ripspeed pedal has been drilled AND glued, I'm assuming with araldite. Does anyone know what you do to get this off?

My problem is this: If I can get the araldite off, I'm left with a holey accelerator, so will therefore have to find an alternative, such as the tt pedals. If I can't, does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do?

Yes they are, very very annoying. I've seen alot of Ibizas on here with the tt pedals, look great, I'd love to get a set.

Aaahh! why do people do such things to cars? They look like they would be realy dangerous in the wet, and drilling and glueing inplace? sounds like a bodge jib to me...

well if you can remove the bolt (or whatever is holding it on from the drilling) you could try and heat up the glue and see if it'll budge that way?

Yes I can remove the bolt. That's a good idea, I'll give it a go. I just can't wait to get them off!

quick update! Picked up my tt pedals today, then removed the old 'ripspeed' ones - and to my surprise, the accelerator was a doodle! Just took a good tug and it came clean off.

I then put the tt ones on, and wow, what a difference! The pics you see of them on here on peoples cars really don't do them justice. In the flesh they look fantastic. Really happy, been meaning to do this for a while - now just need chrome interior trim (vent surrounds) to match!
