going to replace my brakes, should i just stick with the standard brakes or anyone got any suggestions for which type to go for?

Upgrade front and rear you won't look back. I'm running a standard motor but the larger brakes are great adds more of a safety margin.

As said above but depends on how much you want to spend, I have just upgraded my fronts to Porsche 4 Pots, grooved discs & DS2500 pads and WOW:D

Kissed the windscreen yet hehe .... they work ... and work ... and work .... and even when you've run out of road and bottle they're still working .... Sooooo much better than the OE setup.

With the Porsche calipers is it possible to get away with 17's or is it a case 18's and that's that?

I think you can get away with spacers but not sure (starfish).

312mm discs will fit under 17s yes - porsche calipers will not, not without spacers anyway - i think the calipers will fit on spacers behind 17s but the only OE wheel they fit behind is TT Comps i think.

As far as I'm aware without (yeh I know still a stock bitch)

However I have never found the stock set up too much of a disaster unless you abuse them too much. I'm not denying that the upgrade is better than stock, just that 99% of the time I feel that stock set up is adequate. However post September they will be upgraded together (prob Porsche set up) with KW coilovers.

I've got the Porsche calipers under my original FR 17'' wheels but had to fit 10mm spacers to get enough clearance. Will go and take a couple of pics in a wee while ;)
