how to increase BHP on my Cordoba sx??

Hey does anyone know the best way to get some more power out of the sx? I have heard conflicting arguements about induction kits so i'm still none the wiser!!

2.0 16v? Not so much. Drill the 'outside' of the airbox, smooth the inside

Don't buy a cone filter without a heat shield - my one had a noticeable drop in performance with that.

Without big money there's not a lot you can do though (think head, cams etc)

yeah 2.o 16v , i am getting the impression there is not much i can do without spending £££... I have heard though a pipercross induction kit and a sports exhaust would make a difference which would be somewhat cheaper than gas flowing the head or upgrading the cams but with obviously alot less returns ... if i got the pipercross i take it i would need the heat shield aswell?

you can get your head done to a good standard for around £350. but it gets expensive when you add on genuine belts, tensioner, fluids, gasketts and bolts. just cost me over £200+discount for the above from vw. not too cheap

im putting a cupra abf into my mk2 golf. a goof filter/airbox work. exhaust (jetex etc) and custom chip seem to be the way to go.

also a lightened flywheel to get it spinning up faster

Have you looked on clubgti's forum, i thimk there a a few people running modified abf's maybe they can tell you a few cheap mods to do.

There's something special about the sound of the 16v on full song. I'm seriously considering not replacing mine with a 20vt because it's more fun bouncing the 16v off the limiter

this is true but a little more power in early revs wouldn't go amiss!
