No dont need to be mapped just holds the boost longer so give a stronger pull through the gears. mine made about 10 bhp through out the rev range, holds at a good 24 psi now to the red line.
i'm getting my turbo made hybrid an gettin a forge actuator fitted as well. Do i need to adjust it when i fit on car or do you adjust them by changing the spring in them an what spring you have in yours. Also you said had to basically take turbo off. When you did this what parts did you fit new to car as in gaskits. Thankyou.

If you are remapped, you can increase the map boost request with a REVO sps, APR Vtune, custom code software or Lemmiwinks. Once the map has been adjusted for the new boost available , it will run fine.
Your first step though is a decent stage 1 remap.;)

you cant adjust max boost with lemmiwinks, unisettings nor custom settings... you can only turn load scale down

limp mode limits will depend on who's mapped... as some map the limits out so no deviation codes will occur.

dont just try to turn up an actuator on an otherwise stock motor tho..
get it mapped properly

Thats odd though Bill as i can increase my requested boost with lemmingwinks. What is the difference between load scale and directly adjusting a map to request more boost.

Could you please explain how you can increase the boost via the actuator and not need a remap to stop it going into limp mode?

what channel do you adjust for boost?
load scale turns things down but not >100%

Hi Ibizacupra I don't know if you missed my question?

Could you explain the theory behind this to me a little more please?

i replied to your email/pm... if it was you..?

clipping turbine wheel is removing turbine wheel so it will flow more, BUT in doing so you will introduce some lag as the wheel will be less efficient, but the "gap" essentially will be bigger and flow more..

its a balancing act

No email or pm from me.

So are you saying by reducing surface area of the turbine wheel you are moving the boost levels to start at lower rpm, but not maintain boost at higher rpm?

Mark - all this is irrelevant unless you've got a remap first. Anything else is a waste of time even thinking about until you've done that.

why though? as a cheap and cheerful way of getting more power?

these cars are not tuned through the actuator but ECU, as I am sure you know, and adjusting the actuator will only cause a number of issues

on a standard LCR, I would not advise winding the actuator in at all

a Forge actuator can be fitted normally with a 1bar spring when running higher power

as for clipping turbine wheels etc, speak with Mark at CR turbo's, who will give you the ins and outs of everything you need to know if going down the hybrid route, or did you ask as you are thinking of doing this yourself?

load scale turns things down but not >100%

might be because carl is running APR software. I know with vtune you can turn the boost up maybe lemmiwinks picks up on some difference in the ECU caused by vtune so it will let the load go above 100%
