Use of Octane Boosters - Anyone tried it on a Cupra?

I was thinking about this yesterday. I'm not the brightest when it comes to stuff like this and I was wondering how they actually work? Surely there's no way to ensure that the addative is evenly distributed throughout the fual in the tank?

You put the booster in first, then the larger volume of fuel. It mixes and diffuses through the fuel. It works.

ive bought some stuff DPJ recommended, so will do some testing once my car is sorted. Surely you must be able to advance the timing slightly.

by the time the fuel line has emptied it will have blended in sweet but tried a few different ones over the years and always noticed a difference

Would you actually need to modify the timing?

Just thinking that today's ECUs are able to cope with and compensate for a wide range of fuel qualities (due to being sold into different countries/markets).. changing the ignition timing might show an difference, but could also using standard fuel due to running rich/lean..

Will check the second bottle when I go home. 3 seems to spring to mind. The fumes smell funky now though - i know why so many Evos "smell" funny when you follow them now though
