Hey i,ve got a leak coming from the n/s of my gear box, after further investigation we believe that the seal behind the n/s flange is leaking, i was wondering if any one knew the part number? my local dealer is useless and im away from home so cant go to show them the part on there system

p.s its a 1.4 99 mk2 with an apq engine but can't remember the gearbox code

i hate 085 gearboxes with a passion

rebuilt the on eon the mrs polo a few months back, brand new diff bearings are still noisy even thought i messured the endfloat on everything and fitted the right shims for correct bearing preload!
also i have replaced the N/s drive flange seal twice since, with genuine parts and its leaking again!!!

Yep honestly it does. Ive used it loads to get part numbers for stuff. And like yours, my local Seat parts desk arent exactly brilliant.

i had to show the guy at the vw parts desk how to look up part numbers without a reg a chassis number the other day! he wasn't impressed when i said now that wasn't hard now was it!
