If you're going to do similar things to this as you have to the Leon then I reckon you'll have fun. Remove all the seats, rip out all the interior ... turn it into the fastest garden waste carrier in Yorkshire haha

Is there any reason you couldn't pick one up with a blown PD130 turbo and send it off for hybrid? Got to be available stupidly cheap surely?

No, It'll have to remain a seven seater, but by virtue of having to own it, it would grow a towbar and see a one-seater leon behind it....

I don't think it has to be boring no, decent wheels ... lowered just a little ..... nice and clean and with a nice bit of grunt to back it up - I reckon one could be quite cool.

In theory it would also stop it running if you turned the key off and it was running on its own oil - something diesels can do even if you cut the fuel supply after a bearing in the turbo goes

The ASV and EGR are part of the same housing.

The "wingnut" mod that JonJay refers to, is removal of the EGR guts, but retaining the body complete with ASV butterfly. All the benefits of EGR removal, but you get to keep your ASV, and it looks completely stock too.
I have one of these modified beasties sat at home, waiting for me to find the time to fit it.

Depends what oil they've uses to be honest. The standard VW505.01 oil is good for 10k miles whereas the 506.01 or 504/507 longlife oils are good for up to about 18k miles. If they've just used Castrol Magnatec or something like that then I'd be giving it a bodyswerve myself. Knowing certain Seat dealers, I'd rather go for a car that's had less miles between services. If they've gone for longer service intervals then they may have used cheap oil aswell.

I hear what you're saying. My guess is the (one owner) customer has had it serviced late each time - it's always been the same dealer..... so, down to oil. I will try and find out. Your help is much appreciated.
