Pilot from the inside and ALWAYS drill from the outside. Only way to be sure of a clean neat cut

I have the Maplins fitted, which a dealer finished off for me by drilling and wiring into the boot.
My thinking was that if they screwed it up they would have to fix it, cost me £50.

I am not sure the OEM sensors are as big a diameter as the Maplins though, I looked at a number of OEM ones on forecourts
before having mine fitted, from memory they also look "sort of" recessed.

Yep plugs all done, bought a special magnetic spark plug removing tool for the job lol. Used cable ties to get the coil packs out.

Ok cool. How comes your getting parkin sensors for anyway? Is it for her indoors?

no ive already got parking sensors, its just that im fitting a new bumper -as my one is damaged, but the new bumper hasnt got the holes in it yet.

Hole is only going to be 9/10mm diameter so would a large drill bit be more suitable?

As has been previously said, its best to pilot from which ever side is easiest but to always drill with the hole cutter from the side you want a good finish on.

If you use a hole saw i would recommend drilling with a 3mm pilot, and then open that up to 6mm (or 1/4") and then to drill the 18mm hole. I've had lots of practice will hole saws up to a size of 70mm over the last 6 months whilst at work, but we are drilling galvanised steel.....

The other option would be to clap a bit of wood to the underside of the hole to try and stop it chipping out etc....
