Diff and gearbox are going to be mated this week :funk:

Going to check about running the diff in - as far as I know its not necessary.

good times, have you made any progress with the flat spot mate? Theres a guy with a ed30 who has changed coils, sparks, dv and gonna do maf next. Then if that doesnt fix it hes gonna dump the car at JKM. The boost just really drops off at that 5200rpm for some reason.

Not yet, purely because it has been impossible to get power down properly at 5,200rpm for the last month or so, regardless of which gear the car is in

February will be a busy month though :)

Will be interesting to see what the outcome of the flat spot is on the Edition 30.

yes mate i believe you do have to run it in , so i will volunteer to do thid for you :bleh:

:cheeky:

i dont think it will need running in al, but the oil should be changed after a few hundred miles.

I was speaking to a mate earlier, and we were speaking about this being a reasonable idea. Was also planning to go easy and work it in over 1000 miles or so, but I am sure that will be easier said than done

pcv?

no mention of pcv, but wouldnt have thought it would make a difference with the flat spot?

btw mate found another person running schrick cams, posted it in your thread.

I had a similar occurrence on a dyno and simply increasing the fuelling to a richer mix managed to neutralise it. Guy who ran the dyno even said it could have been the start of compressor surge:confused:

Which thread and which forum?:help:

this forum, the thread you made about schrick cams, its anther big turbo TT, apparently belongs to a UAE prince. Quite a few BT TT's running around lately ive noticed. Both of them over 500hp aswell. One of the chaps has got his DSG clutch uprated to handle between 500-600wtq. No idea if thats nm or lbft though.

For those who may be interested, my Wavetrac diff and uprated box will be fitted on Thursday this week, along with a Sachs Clutch, WALK, Eibach coilovers, catch can, re-fit Dbilas, uprated engine mounts, short shift, modified fuel valve on intake manifold, uprated plugs and a proper health check.

Ah. beat me to it. was also going to ask if a pass ride would be possible as the the clutch and diff are on my agenda. Al. out of curiosity have you driven a car with a different brand of diff to compare against?

Sounds fun, must be like xmas for you. ;)

Yeah it should be "interesting" to try it out with that stuff on it. I am in particular interested to see how the car behaves with the diff, and how the traction control copes with it.

Spec list will be

BSH Engine Mounts
BSH Catch Can
Dbilas Intake
S3 Intercooler
KMD Fuel Pump
Milltek Turbo Back Exhaust, including decat section
Revo Stage 2+
Wavetrac Limited Slip Differential
Sachs Raching Clutch
Eibach Pro Kit Coilovers
Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2's
Whiteline Anti Lift Kit
Forge Adjustable Shortshifter

I also have 4 pot Brembos I am still considering fitting, and need to make up my mind about the Anti Roll Bars. I have also been looking in to the possibility of having my spare K04 turbo modified based on information I have read on another forum.

Regarding runs, should be no bother except I will have a gearbox, clutch, engine mounts and all sorts of other standard bits in the boot with me as the bulk of the modifications are being done in Sheffield.
